Eddie’s In-House Tournament

 Eddie’s 1st Tournament

Eddie had a Baseball cram session working up to his first tournament.  He and his team had 2 and a half weeks to prepare to go against Travel teams that had been playing together for the whole summer.  One team had played around 40 games together.  The boys did really well, I was impressed how far they had come.  Eddie started the 1st game off with an RBI double and had another double and single in the game.

The second game he had another double and a couple RBI’s.  His second time pitching went really well as he made a diving grab and toss to the first baseman for the first out and struck out 2 more.

The 3rd game was against the tournament winners and although Eddie’s team didn’t win, they did score some runs on an amazing team that had only let up 1 run in their first 2 games.

Eddie had a blast and really took a big step in his ability.  We all had fun watching that boy play.  We also had to run the concession stand for the first time.  The kids thought that was pretty cool.

Branson ’12

Bittersweet as we were sending Wally away to live with Gramma and Papa. However after Wallace decided to relieve himself in the back of our new van it made it a little easier ;). Gramma and Papa rented a beautiful cabin for our stay and it couldn’t have been more relaxing. We went to the Dixie Stampede and Lalie had to get over her fear of the horses, after that the kids had an awesome time. The food was great and I remember Eddie eating all the brisket from our plates. The only thing we didn’t get pictures of is when we drove 45 minutes to Lambert’s for some down home cooking and Throwed Rolls. It was definitely worth the drive but I can still remember hearing Lalie in the bathroom from across the restaurant screaming from her UTI. We really did have a nice relaxing time and have some great memories from that trip.

January 2014 – Kids stay home from the cold

We started off going to Great Grandpa Bud’s funeral and the kids got to see Grandpa Eddie’s tombstone.  The kids also took an interest in the Keyboard Papa and Grandma Linda had gotten them.  January was a very cold month as school was cancelled for a few days because of it.  Negative 40 with wind chill was cold enough to freeze water almost instantly.  The kids got to go outside in short bursts and we got to have a little in the house time with the whole family.
